I recently had the pleasure of traveling to photograph a lovely intimate Asheville wedding in North Carolina…When planning the wedding with the couple they chose Jump Off Rock for their ceremony because they wanted something intimate all while having beautiful scenery for their guests. Jump Off Rock was a great choice with a very interesting story and their portraits came out stunning!

Their reception took place at The Montford which is a rooftop bar that overlooks the Blue Ridge Mountains only minutes from Downtown Asheville. The couple loved the spacious layout with doors that opened wide enough to double the reception area onto the patio, and the food was everything one could wish for on such a gluttonous occasion. With a gorgeous view, family and good food, you can’t go wrong here.

Kaite and Blake met on Facebook, and Katie moved to Asheville to be with Blake a short time after they met . Katie did her own hair and makeup and even cut and colored Blake’s days before their wedding ! They are definitely my kind of people <3

When I asked Katie + Blake what their favorite parts of their day was, here’s what they had to say!

Katie – “ My favorite part of my day were the little moments when I got to sit back and watch everyone have fun. It was such a joy to have all of our close family and friends present. Bringing them to Asheville to see the beautiful city we live in was a choice we made that I am so happy about. 

I have to pick a second. The first look with Blake. I remember the huge wave of emotion that washed over me when I turned around. The sparks I felt brought me right back to the moment when we first met. It reminded me that every ounce of pain, heartbreak, and sadness that I experienced in my past led me to him, and it was all worth it. “

Blake- “ I loved spending time with friends and family, and their merriment as they celebrated and schmoozed amongst themselves; I truly had a blast taking pictures with them at the direction our magnificent photographers; but, above all, were the quiet moments amidst the chaos and pageantry when Katie and I would just slip into our own little realm, and it was just us, safe and peacefully enveloped by our love and mutual disdain for large social gatherings.”
